Chuck Heirs Bio

Chuck Hiers greeted JT when he returned to Mississippi after the R2AK 2018 by saying something like this: I want to do this race!  Fast forward to October and it was Chuck in the passenger seat as he and JT towed the Hobie 33 from Clinton, MS to Toms River NJ. Chuck first learned to sail as a kid when he was just 13 years old.  Adulting turned him into a vacation sailor but he admits he always hoped to get back to sailing. Hit that fast forward button again and Chuck is enrolled in sailing class.  While still in the class Chuck is doing some sailing with Team Buckeye members on both the Morgan 25 and the Hobie 33. Next, he convinced the team members that he was crazy enough to go to Alaska and Chuck was offered a spot on the team.

Chuck grew up in Charleston where his father taught him the value of the outdoors and the enjoyment of pursuing those adventures. Due in part to this upbringing, and living on the coast, Chuck enjoyed a multitude of outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, shrimping, skiing, and hunting. While in college he was a beach lifeguard for 4 years. In addition to those activities, Chuck just like every other member of this team is a scuba diver. Chuck also enjoys golf, tennis, corn hole, sailing, and he is an avid college football fan.  He enjoys traveling whether it is in the US or internationally and recently returned from a trip to China where he hiked the great wall. married for almost 20 years with 2 children Chuck spent most of his life in Charleston working in the banking industry until 6 years ago when he purchased a “Home Instead Senior Care” franchise in Clinton MS. Type your paragraph here.
